Benefits

Time Off:

  • 25 days off, includes vacation, sick time, CME, personal time, holidays
  • Continuing Medical Education:
  • Reimbursement for CME expenses in the amount of $700 for PGY-1, $1250 for PGY-2, $1500 for PGY-3
  • All registration fees for BLS, ACLS, ATLS, NALS, PALS, ALSO paid by program (average value = $1000.00)

Licensure and Dues:

  • State of Alabama medical licensure fees, DEA registration fees, and AAFP resident membership dues paid by program, as well as examination fees required for these licenses (average value = $2500.00)

Meals:

  • Provided free of charge in St. Vincent’s East cafeteria or doctor’s lounge dining, snacks provided in call room (average value = $2500.00/year)

Uniforms:

  • Two clinical coats are provided to PGY-1 residents; one additional coat is provided during either PGY-2 or 3 year

Insurance:

• Malpractice Insurance
• All residency-based activities


Health Insurance:

  • Blue Cross & Blue Shield; comprehensive hospitalization and major medical coverage including Rx benefits. Two plans are available at group rates.
  • Vision insurance available
  • Yearly PPD provided/required
  • Influenza vaccine provided yearly to all associates
  • Flexible Spending Account: Tax savings on un-reimbursed medical and dependent care expenses.

Dental Insurance:

  • Blue Cross & Blue Shield; coverage for preventive, restorative, orthodontic care.

Other Insurance:

  • Core Life Insurance-: Coverage equals one times annual base salary.
  • Accidental Death Insurance:- Coverage equals one times annual base salary.
