...a tradition of faith and care

to the under-served;

In over 37 years, more than 160 physicians have been trained in Family Medicine earning the respect of medical staffs, patients, and communities over many states. From Florida to Washington, our graduates practice in a wide variety of clinical settings: rural and urban, solo and group, inpatient and outpatient, academic and community-based.  However, many graduates remain in Alabama as they have found the ingredients of a fruitful and fulfilling career…an outstanding education; commitment to the highest quality medicine; a tradition of faith and care to the under-served; a wealth of medical resources; a strong patient base and following; and an incomparable life that only a city like Birmingham can offer.

Faculty members bring a wealth of experience and broadly varied talents to the program contributing to a balanced and well-rounded educational program. All faculty members are board certified and hold volunteer clinical faculty appointments with University of Alabama School of Medicine as well as several DO medical school affiliations. The residency clinic patient base is diverse in many respects, including age, social and economic strata, race, and ethnicity. Such a multiplicity of patients adds depth and further value to an already outstanding clinical situation.
